2024-2025 Faculty Council and FEC Meetings
The 2024-2025 schedule of Faculty Council and Faculty Executive Committee (FEC) meetings is available on the Faculty Governance website. The first FEC meeting will be held Thursday, September 5, at 1:00 PM. The first Faculty Council meeting will be held Thursday, September 19, at 1:00 PM. The deadline for placing items on the agenda is approximately one week prior to the actual meeting date. Since most items must also go through one of our faculty governance committees for their review and recommendations, the entire cycle should be considered in meeting your organization’s needs.

Ethical Considerations for Teaching with GenAI
This interactive workshop invites faculty to discuss ethical dilemmas in generative AI (GenAI) for education. Zoom AI for Teaching
This workshop will explore the new Zoom AI companion feature added on to Zoom meetings. Participants will learn how to use the Zoom AI Whiteboard feature for teaching, including creating, sharing, and collaborating on digital whiteboards. The session covers drawing tools, sticky notes, and integration with Zoom features, with live demos showcasing how to enhance virtual teaching through interactive and engaging lessons.

Globally Networked Learning (GNL)
Learn about Globally Networked Learning (GNL), a method of embedding a six-week virtual exchange module into coursework where your students and students abroad interact with each other working on a project related to the topic of the course. Included in the discussion will be funding available to faculty for including GNL in your course, how to find a partner faculty member overseas, how to prepare for the GNL module, what technology to use and more. This is a great way to give students different perspectives on your course topic.
Reflections that Resonate: Transforming Classroom Learning
This workshop explores the role of reflection in the classroom, emphasizing its importance for both students and instructors. It highlights weekly reflective practices, personal accountability, and end-of-semester reflections to foster deeper learning, critical thinking, and personal growth, ultimately enhancing students’ educational experiences and instructors’ teaching effectiveness. Attendees will engage in reflective practice, and explore its application to their own teaching and learning.
