Proposals to Teach in Honors College
Are you interested in submitting a proposal to teach a course for the Honors College? Now is your chance! We are currently accepting course proposals for the Summer 2026, Fall 2026, and Spring 2027 semesters. To learn more and submit a proposal, submit this form. Proposals are due October 1. Early Alert Deadline / CONNECT Training Modules and Best Practice Sessions
Early Alerts are due for all 1000/2000 level courses by 12:00 p.m.on Friday, September 12. Are you new to Charlotte? Check out the Advisor Tool Kit page. CONNECT Best Practices training modules are located on Canvas under published courses. Advisors and faculty can request a one on one or team session follow up training centered around your departmental initiatives. After completion of the training modules, follow up training requests can be made here. For more information contact Gary Martinez, Advising Systems Specialist, or LeeFredrick Bowen, Executive Director of Advising Systems.
Innovate Your Teaching Through Globally Networked Learning
The Office of International Programs (OIP) invites faculty to submit a proposal for Globally Networked Learning courses. Globally Networked Learning (GNL) refers to an innovative collaborative approach to teaching that enables students and instructors from different locations around the world to participate in learning, joint projects and creation of knowledge together. GNL allows for access to international experiences for all students and prepares them with global competency skills via collaborative online learning with peers across the world.
OIP offers $1250 for a new GNL course and $500 for a repeat GNL course. The submission deadline for Spring 2026 courses is Friday September 5, 2025. Contact Yongling Gorke for questions about proposal submission.

The Faculty Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Grants Committee is requesting proposals for Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) Grants on impacts of AI in Teaching and Learning!
Use this as an opportunity to jumpstart your research into the effects of AI in your classroom and/or your teaching practice!
- Want to learn more? Join our SoTL Orientation Workshop (1 hour via Zoom) on August 18th from 10:00 – 11:00 AM to hear from SoTL Program facilitators about the goals of the program and support structures for SoTL work on campus.
- Need writing support? Enroll in the SoTL Writing Course (5 days facilitated asynchronous/self-paced) from August 25 – 29.
IYMI: 2025 AI Summit
Over 200 UNC Charlotte faculty, staff, students, administrators, industry partners, and attendees from surrounding education institutions convened at the Dubois Center for the 3rd Annual Charlotte AI Summit for Smarter Learning.
Key insights from featured sessions included:
- Strategies to design more effective and ethical learning experiences with AI
- Where we are headed as a campus in terms of supporting students, faculty, and staff with AI technologies
- What different units on campus are doing to prepare university employees for the next generation of learners at UNC Charlotte
- How industry partners are leveraging AI in the workforce, and
- Perspectives on college level needs and potential directions for the future of AI across the disciplines at UNC Charlotte
The summit showcased over 25 presentations by Charlotte faculty on:
- What they are doing with AI in the classroom,
- How they are using AI for research, and
- The ethical considerations they are making as they consider AI use in higher education.
