Best Practices in Holistic Faculty Recruitment Training Added in October
The Center for ADVANCing Faculty Success (CAFS) and their collaborators who facilitate Best Practices in Holistic Faculty Recruitment will be offering the Face-to-Face Best Practices in Holistic Faculty Recruitment Training on Tuesday, October 28 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:50 p.m. If you know your department will be convening a search committee this academic year, or if you have already been selected to sit on a search committee, please make sure you have taken this training within the past 5 years. This training is required before a faculty member is permitted to sit on a search committee. Sign up here – just scroll down in the box, “I plan to attend on* to sign up for the October date. Faculty recruitment training is a two-part training, and each part must be completed prior to serving on the committee.Visit the CAFS website to see the criteria and to sign up for the face-to-face training.
Peer Mentoring Circles
Join the Center for ADVANCing Faculty Success as they launch their new Mentoring Initiative: Peer Mentoring Circles. These facilitated, interactive mentoring sessions, which are open to faculty of all appointments, will provide information related to topics of interest to newer faculty at UNC Charlotte. In addition, they will provide opportunities to help you engage with one another and build support networks with other new faculty and faculty at different ranks at UNC Charlotte. Participants will choose one of the meeting dates from each month:
Monday, October 13, 11:00am – 12:15pm or Tuesday, October 14, 11:00am – 12:15pm
Monday, December 1, 11:00am – 12:15pm or Tuesday, December 2, 11:00 – 12:15pm
