Best Practices in Holistic Faculty Recruitment Workshop in January
The Center for ADVANCing Faculty Success (CAFS) and their collaborators who facilitate Best Practices in Holistic Faculty Recruitment will offer a (virtual) face-to-face training session. If you know your department will convene a search committee this academic year, or if you have already been selected to sit on a search committee, please make sure you have taken this training within the past five years. This training is required before a faculty member is permitted to sit on a search committee. Faculty recruitment training is a two-part training, and each part must be completed prior to serving on the committee. Please visit the CAFS website to see the criteria and to sign up for a session.
- Wednesday, January 28, 10:00 – 11:50 AM (Register)
Faculty Forum for Associate Professors Interested in Learning about Promotion to Full
The Center for ADVANCing Faculty Success offers a Faculty Forum once a year in an effort to provide clarity to mid-career faculty regarding the criteria for promotion from Associate Professor to Full Professor. Dr. Jennifer Troyer, Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, and the Deans or their appointees serve on a panel, in which panelists provide information on pathways to promotion. The format is interactive, so faculty have the opportunity to ask questions during the session. Members of Department Review Committees (DRC) and College Review Committees (CRC) are encouraged to attend to ensure that all involved in the review process have a common understanding of expectations and other issues.
- Thursday, March 26, 10:00 – 11:00 AM, location TBD (Register)

The format will be an interactive panel discussion. The panel will consist of Deans from each College, or their representatives. It’s never too early to start planning for the next phase of your career!
