Bring your courses to life with high-quality, engaging instructional media! The Center for Teaching and Learning’s Media Production team partners with faculty to create dynamic, accessible, and professionally produced media that supports teaching goals and enhances student learning experiences.

Whether you’re developing a new course, refreshing existing content, or looking to increase student engagement, the Media Production team provides start-to-finish support, from initial consultation through final delivery. Services include studio-based recording in a fully equipped on-campus facility and field production for on or off-site demonstrations, interviews, labs, and simulations.

Faculty work directly with a dedicated project lead to plan, record, and produce media aligned with course objectives. Projects are delivered ready for integration into courses, designed for clarity, accessibility, and student learning success.

CHHS Introduction to Embase and Embase AI

The faculty of CHHS is invited to an online session where representatives from Elsevier will provide an overview of Embase and Embase AI, important new resources available through the Atkins library. Embase is a comprehensive biomedical and pharmacological research database that features literature from 1947 to the present. With millions of records, including content not covered by MEDLINE, this resource connects users to research across thousands of journals and conferences.

The Atkins Library Critical Media Literacy Collaborative is hosting the conference Media Literacy Matters: Empowering Critical Thinkers in a Digital World on Thursday, April 2, from 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Faculty interested in presenting a lightning talk on media literacy can submit proposals.

Atkins Library Begins OA Policy SupportPer the faculty-approved UNC Charlotte Open Access Policy, the university will begin supporting faculty with disseminating their work by archiving a copy of peer-reviewed journal scholarship in Niner Commons, UNC Charlotte’s scholarly repository. Learn more.

Faculty Forum for Associate Professors interested in learning about Promotion to Full 

The Center for ADVANCing Faculty Success offers a Faculty Forum once a year in an effort to provide clarity to mid-career faculty regarding the criteria for promotion from Associate Professor to Full Professor. Dr. Jennifer Troyer, Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, and the Deans or their appointees serve on a panel, in which panelists provide information on pathways to promotion. The format is interactive, so faculty have the opportunity to ask questions during the session. Members of Department Review Committees (DRC) and College Review Committees (CRC) are encouraged to attend to ensure that all involved in the review process have a common understanding of expectations and other issues.

The Center for ADVANCing Faculty Success invites associate professors who have received tenure in the past 2 years to attend our annual Recently-Tenured Associate Professor Orientation. The goal of this orientation is to clarify expectations around this next phase in your professional journey; to provide information about formulating a plan; and to introduce you to resources that will help you to be successful. The format will be an interactive panel discussion. The panel will consist of Deans from each College, or their representatives.  It’s never too early to start planning for the next phase of your career!
