Best Practices in Holistic Faculty Recruitment Face-to-Face Workshops: January

The Center for ADVANCing Faculty Success (CAFS) and their collaborators who facilitate Best Practices in Holistic Faculty Recruitment will offer a virtual Face-to-Face Session on Wednesday, January 28 from 10:00 – 11:50 a.m. If you know your department will convene a search committee this academic year, or if you have already been selected to sit on a search committee, please make sure you have taken this training within the past five years. This training is required before a faculty member is permitted to sit on a search committee. Faculty recruitment training is a two-part training, and each part must be completed prior to serving on the committee. Visit the CAFS website to see the criteria and to sign up for a session. Register.

Podcast Series – Only Faculty in the Building – new Podcasts added!!The podcast series, “Only Faculty in the Building,” was developed with the knowledge that new faculty have a lot on their plates, beginning on day one, and that it can be difficult to prioritize professional development programming when you know you are going to be faced with a classroom full of expectant faces several times a week – don’t panic! You can access the podcasts, which are only 15-20 minutes long, at a time that works for you; no need to schedule a time where you have to be in a certain place at a certain time! In this series, we talk with representatives from numerous offices across campus who are dedicated to helping you be successful in your first few  years at UNC Charlotte. More seasoned faculty will also find the podcasts to be very helpful as UNC Charlotte continues to expand and provide new resources for all faculty to thrive and be successful at our Institution. Access the podcasts.
