Fall 2023 Planned Schedule Interruption: Weekday Football Game

As we prepare for fall, I need to bring to your attention an adjustment to the class schedule that you will need to incorporate into your syllabus planning.

Weekday Football Game
As members of the American Athletic Conference, we can be asked to schedule football games during the week. For the Fall 2023 season, the football team will play one weekday game at home – Friday, October 27.

Please recall that when the University hosts weekday football games, classes are not canceled. Faculty and students will be responsible for all required hours and faculty should make alternative arrangements for classes and labs scheduled to take place on the main campus at or after 2:30 p.m. in accordance with the UNC Charlotte Academic Procedure: Schedule Interruption Guidelines. All faculty with classes starting at or after 2:30 p.m. or later should adjust their syllabi accordingly as classroom and lab facilities will not be available. If faculty members wish to reschedule an in-class meeting day, Tuesday, October 24, 2023, has been designated as a makeup date.

Schedule alterations for football do not apply to undergraduate or graduate classes scheduled for the Dubois Center at UNC Charlotte Center City. Further information about on campus parking will be sent closer to the date of the weekday game.

Please maintain enough flexibility in your syllabus to accommodate schedule interruptions.
