Changes to course material adoption process
Dear Faculty Colleagues,
Many of you may have seen the recent news that the University is adopting a new course material rental program that will help lower the overall cost of textbooks for our students. I wanted to share with you more information about this exciting program. Barnes & Noble Charlotte will begin offering the Niner Course Pack to undergraduate and graduate students in fall 2023. This new plan provides students affordable access to all of their necessary materials on the first day of classes. Your participation is critical to the success of this program for our students. Faculty are required to provide their course material adoptions to the bookstore so the material may be made available through this option. However, please note that if you are currently using Open Educational Resources (OER) or other free course materials, you do not need to change your adoptions. One flat rate Pricing for this program reflects the work that you have done as faculty to keep textbooks affordable for students. Students will have the opportunity to opt out of the Niner Course Pack for the semester if they determine that the program does not meet their needs. However, students who stay in the program will be able to apply remaining financial aid and/or take advantage of the University’s payment plan to cover the costs of their materials. Submitting your course material Thank you for your help in fulfilling our commitment to providing a world-class education at an excellent value. Together, we can continue to make Charlotte accessible and affordable for all students, regardless of need. Staying up to date Sincerely, |
