UPDATE: Planned Schedule Interruptions
As we prepare for fall, I need to bring to your attention to adjustments to the class schedule that you will need to incorporate into your syllabus planning.
Chancellor Installation
As part of the schedule of events associated with the installation of Chancellor Gaber, classes will be canceled on Thursday, September 23, 2021, to allow faculty and students to participate in the installation ceremony at 10:30 a.m. that day in Halton Arena. Please check the academic calendar to review adjustments made to the withdrawal, mid-term unsatisfactory grade, and makeup dates. Parking on the main campus will also be limited on this day; more details will follow regarding both parking and the schedule of events.
All day-time and evening undergraduate classes will be cancelled, as well as all daytime graduate classes, at both the main campus and the Dubois Center at UNC Charlotte Center City. Evening graduate classes that begin after 5:30 p.m. will continue as scheduled.
Weekday Football Games
As members of Conference USA, we can be asked to schedule football games during the week. This year, the football team will play three weekday games at home: 1) Friday, September 3; 2) Friday, September 24; and 3) Thursday, October 21.
Please recall that when the University hosts weekday football games, classes are not canceled. Faculty and students will be responsible for all required hours and faculty should make alternative arrangements for classes and labs scheduled to take place on the main campus after 2:00 p.m. in accordance with the UNC Charlotte Academic Procedure: Schedule Interruption Guidelines. Please advise all faculty with classes starting at 2:00 p.m. or later to adjust their syllabi accordingly as classroom and lab facilities will not be available. If faculty members wish to reschedule an in-class meeting day, Saturday, November 13, 2021, has been designated as a makeup date, replacing the original November 27 makeup date.
Schedule alterations for football do not apply to undergraduate or graduate classes scheduled for the Dubois Center at UNC Charlotte Center City. Further information will be forthcoming about on campus parking.
