Moratorium on Starting New Curriculum Proposals
A short moratorium on starting new proposals begins June 1 as we transition from one catalog year to another. This has no effect on proposals already started. You may continue to use Curriculog but will not be able to start a new proposal during the approximately month-long moratorium. For more information regarding curriculum proposals, visit the Faculty Governance website’s Course and Curriculum webpages. The 2023-2024 Undergraduate and Graduate Catalogs will be available online in June 2023.
Faculty RSVP for New Student Convocation Now Open
The 2023 New Student Convocation for incoming first-year and transfer students will take place on Sunday, August 20, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. in the Barnhardt Student Activity Center.
- Faculty are invited to participate in this tradition that celebrates the beginning of our new Niners’ academic journey. RSVP for the event as soon as possible. The RSVP form will close on Monday, August 14, 2023.
- Faculty are encouraged to wear regalia during the event. If you need to rent regalia, please indicate this on your RSVP by May 30, 2023. Additional information will be sent as soon as it becomes available.
- Faculty should arrive at the event by 1:30 p.m. Ceremony details and where to meet will be shared the week of August 14.
Next-Generation Learning with Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) Tools
The School of Professional Studies announces its new professional certificate on Generative AI, designed to make you AI-ready for next-generation learning. The certificate for the Generative AI training is a five-day, one hour per day program with a different topic covered each day. Choose one of two time slots to attend interactive workshops and earn the certificate. Invest in yourself and enroll today!

Training: Trademark Licensing
Using UNC Charlotte Logos, Trade Name, and Trademarks: Who Needs a License and Why?
Did you know that any merchandise (including, but not limited to clothing, hats, mugs, games, sports equipment, decals, etc.) bearing UNC Charlotte logos, trade name, or trademarks must be produced by an approved and licensed vendor, regardless of the purpose or use of the items? This session will introduce and review the new University Policy 601.17, Policy on Licensing of University-Owned Trademarks, which sets standards and procedures for the responsible use of the University’s logos, trade name, and trademarks on any item. The presenters will explain what trademark licensing is and why it’s important. They will discuss the University’s license types, who needs a license, how to get a license, and when royalties must be paid. Finally, they will review some helpful FAQs about trademarks and licensing. Presented by: Rachel Skipworth, University Licensing Program Manager, and Amy Kelso, Senior Associate General Counsel
