Great Expectations: A Faculty Guide to Setting Syllabus Policies
By including clear policies in the course syllabus, faculty members can effectively state their expectations for classroom behavior, and students will be duly notified of those expectations at the outset of the course. In addition, including informational notices in the syllabus is an effective way to communicate with students about campus resources and assistance. In this session, the presenters will review basic legal guidelines for setting classroom policies, highlight some recommended syllabus policies and notices, and explain when and why certain syllabus policies are required. Presented by Amy S. Kelso, Senior Associate General Counsel, and Leslie Zenk, Assistant Provost.

The Cultural Ambassador Program facilitates panel presentations by international students in classrooms and trainings. Faculty interested in having Cultural Ambassadors present in your class should complete the Cultural Ambassador Program request form. The request deadline for Fall presentations is Monday, August 21.
