The nomination deadline for the Harshini V. de Silva Graduate Mentor Award is Friday, November 8, and the deadline for the 2025 First Citizens Bank Scholars Medal is Friday, November 15. More information.
Spring 2024 Constructive Dialogue Faculty Learning Community Announces Opening for Applications
The Free Expression and Constructive Dialogue Task Force announces the opening of applications for faculty to participate in the Spring 2024 Constructive Dialogue Faculty Learning Community. Join a group of colleagues to learn how to incorporate constructive dialogue into your courses. Faculty who complete the learning community will receive a $500 stipend. Professor Matthew Metzgar, Economics, will lead the faculty learning community which will feature a variety of guest speakers. Applications close on November 25.

Call for Survey Participation: ILL and eBooks
This short survey will address the interest of UNC Charlotte faculty, staff and graduate students in the potential option to request books in e-book format via the Atkins Library interlibrary loan (ILL) service (when available).
Book Talk with Local Author Vanessa Miller
Vanessa Miller is a best-selling, award-winning author, playwright, and motivational speaker. Her writing has been centered on themes of redemption, often focusing on characters facing multi-dimensional struggles. Several of Vanessa’s novels have appeared on Essence Magazine’s Bestseller’s List. She has also been a #1 Amazon Bestseller. Miller’s work has received numerous awards, including the 2024 American Fiction Award winner for Historical Fiction, and the 2022 Best Christian Fiction award for her novel, “Something Good,” at the African American Literary Awards Show.
