Rebecca Pope-Ruark Facilitates Workshops on Unraveling Faculty Burnou

It’s a challenging time to be in higher education.  In these two workshops, one directed towards administrators, and one for faculty, Dr. Pope-Ruark will explore what burnout is, how to recognize it in yourself and others, and how to mitigate it by leaning into connection and implementing a framework for increasing your career vitality.

urbanCORE Workshop: RPT Narrative

urbanCORE’s Holly Middleton, PhD, and Professor Kim Buch of Psychological Science invite community-engaged researchers or teachers to a workshop on writing a compelling narrative for RPT. Participants at any stage of a reappointment, promotion, or tenure goal are welcome. It’s never too early to develop the story of your work!

Best Practices in Holistic Faculty Recruitment

The Center for ADVANCing Faculty Success (CAFS) and their collaborators who facilitate Best Practices in Holistic Faculty Recruitment, will offer a virtual training session in November. This will be the last training session for 2025. If you know your department will convene a search committee this academic year, or if you have already been selected to sit on a search committee, please make sure you have taken this training within the past five years. This training is required before a faculty member is permitted to sit on a search committee. Faculty recruitment training is a two-part training and each part must be completed prior to serving on a committee. Please visit the CAFS website to see the criteria and to sign up for the November session.

The Call for Proposals and Registration for the 4th Annual Charlotte AI Summit for Smarter Learning opens this Wednesday, November 5. The Summit is a free, full day event, open to all UNC Charlotte faculty and academic staff.
