June 1

A short moratorium on starting new proposals began May 28 as we transition from one catalog year to another. This has no effect on proposals already started. You may continue to use Curriculum by Modern Campus (previously known as Curriculog), but will not be able to start a new proposal during the approximately month-long moratorium. For more information regarding curriculum proposals, visit the Faculty Governance website’s Course and Curriculum page. The 2026-2027 Undergraduate and Graduate Catalogs will be available online in June 2026.

The Dean of Students Office is conducting a search for the Summer/August 2026 Commencement Student Bell Ringer. This role is a prestigious honor for the selected individual. The Bell Ringer performs the longstanding tradition of ringing the UNC Charlotte “victory bell”, which was gifted to Ms. Bonnie Cone in 1961 when Charlotte College moved from its old site at Central High School to the current UNC Charlotte location. The qualifications of the Bell Ringer encompass an outstanding student leader who has demonstrated exemplary 49er spirit within organizations, volunteerism, and/or service to others.

Applicants must have at least a 2.75 cumulative GPA, be in good conduct standing, be an undergraduate student, on track to graduate, and meet graduation clearance requirements set forth by the Office of the Registrar to graduate in August. Both a resume and personal statement are required in order to assist the committee in getting to know the student’s background. Online applications will be open until 11:45 p.m. on Sunday, July 5, 2026. No late submissions will be accepted. A letter of recommendation/support is highly encouraged but not required for an application to be considered complete. Please have any recommendation letters/supporting documentation sent via email to deanofstudents@charlotte.edu.
