Project & Space Request Guidelines

A collaborative vetting process is vital to avoid conflicting projects and space requests.

How to Submit a Project or Space Request:

  1. Faculty and Staff: Submit your space needs to your department chair. Ensure you have their support before proceeding.
  2. Department Chair: Present the request to your Associate Dean or Dean for review and approval. The Dean’s Office will evaluate the request in the context of other departmental priorities.
  3. Dean’s Office: Contact the Director of Academic & Research Space to initiate the formal process.
  4. Academic Affairs: A final review will be conducted to confirm the request aligns with broader university plans.
  5. Director of Academic & Research Space: Once approved by all parties, the Director will submit the space or project request in Archibus for Facilities Management to address.
  6. Leasing of Academic or Research Space to Industry Partners: Before any plans to lease academic or research space to industry partners are made, you must first discuss them with the Director of Academic & Research Space. This is to confirm there are no upcoming large-scale projects that conflict with a potential lease.
